Only gender and age range is listed for them. Conecuh County was formed from Monroe County sometime after the 1840 Census. James McCorkel, Sr does not appear in any 1850 Census. James McCorkel, Jr listed in the 1850 Conecuh Census, is assumed to be a son of James McCorkel, Sr. and may have lived on or near the place where his father lived . His age, name spelling and children names all support this assumption.

James MCCORKEL and Epsey BELL were married about 1835 in AL. Epsey BELL was born about 1822 in SC. James MCCORKEL and Epsey BELL had the following children:
